We live in a society that reacts with hate and stigma to anything that they fear or don't understand. people are often miseducated about a certain issue or raised to believe that it is a taboo matter that should never be explored. With this in mind, the people going through them might end up being simply sucked into a world where they live double lives, hiding their true selves or what they're going through in order to be accepted.
A few of these things could be one's sexual orientation, HIV status, STIs, and precautions they're are taking to protect themselves from HIV. Now from everything that as been listed there are a lot of things missing but for now, we will focus on them. The LGBTI(lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex) has always been an issue surrounded by controversy, a matter of fact its deemed illegal in some African countries. it would be wonderful of us to remind the people around us who are gay that they're loved and supported no matter what the society does or says.
Your HIV status should never define you because it is just a part of who you are, and if you want to live freely by disclosing it then that is beautiful and if you also feel like keeping it to yourself then that is okay as well. Taking precautions to keep yourself safe should be a priority in all forms.
Now we have shows that discuss these issues and below is a comic that gives people a way to see how hate can affect people, it also educates us on certain methods such as PReP that is
prevention for HIV with help from condoms of course.
